Smart Traffic Management and Mobility
We work with traffic authorities across the world to develop strategies that maintain free flow of traffic and people movement. Our diverse portfolio of innovative smart mobility solutions is enabling major global cities to better manage their roads and respond to traffic conditions.

Currently, our SCATS Adaptive Traffic Control System and our Meridian Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) control road traffic at more than 35,000 intersections, motorways and tunnels in over 250 cities.

We also help make pavements safer for pedestrians and roads less congested for motorists. Travelers are able to plan their routes, thanks to the availability of timely data on traffic and public transportation. Parking violations are reduced with our embedded edge systems and intelligent video analytics that detect offenses in real time.

Smart Street Lighting System Integrator
We design and integrate smart infrastructure with a people-first focus. Partnering with leading edge smart street lighting solutions providers, we empower urban planners with full control over city-wide lighting infrastructure in real-time, while having a bird eye’s of the surroundings and traffic conditions. With LED technology, our street lighting solution helps smart cities reduce energy consumption by 25 percent.

Our intelligent solution combines the use of smart controls and advanced communication technologies to provide lighting service that is more responsive to citizens’ needs. Street lights can adapt the light level when necessary to provide optimized illumination to motorists and pedestrians. Maintenance of street light infrastructure is simplified as our system features automated fault detection capability that alerts city authorities of anomalies promptly.

Smart street lamps offer new methods for information collection and traffic safety monitoring. The built-in sensors on our street lighting solution help city planners collect data to improve the efficiency of transport networks and increase the safety of roads, urban areas and residential neighborhoods.

To date, Johnson Controls provides smart street lighting solution that is used to remotely control and monitor streetlights in major smart cities like Singapore using wireless technology.
